The British Ladies Society should be, and is for many, an absolute bolt hole for expat women and their families within Kuwait. What a fantastic opportunity being in the society presents for those of us already here, to offer new arrivals a home away from home, a diverse network within which to move, and a comfortable space in which to socialize and develop new friendships, especially with people we may never otherwise have had the chance to meet.

Since its inception in 1993, BLS has been a group welcoming all women, be they here on their own, with a spouse, partner or family, working in formal employment or in the home. Our committee works hard to ensure there are myriad activities, events and meetups available to our membership, but it is also important that we hear from you, our members, to ensure our operations run in a way that keep you engaged and feel as valued as you truly are to our community.

Be you a gourmand or an adventurer, culture vulture or outdoor enthusiast, there is so much to do, see, and learn. Our members share their top tips on living in this exciting country, or, navigating challenging moments, and we hope to help you discover your very own Kuwait, making your life here busy, bright and fun!
